An Intimate At Home Elopement

March 24, 2021

For a year now we have been specializing in smaller weddings due to the pandemic and many of those celebrations happened at home. While some postponed, others chose to move forward and decided at the end of the day, if they married their best friend then it didn’t matter how big or grand the wedding actually was.

This styled shoot is not only inspiration for couples who plan on having a smaller, more intimate wedding but also an homage to the couples who decided not to wait. It is meant to show that weddings have nothing to do with size and grandeur, and instead have everything to do with the couple, their love, and the journey they are about to embark on.

One of the things I loved about this shoot was the colour palette. It had such a cozy, warm, welcoming feeling with a touch of bohemian drama. For the ceremony centrepiece we went with blush roses and local pink and orange zinnia. To create an organic wild feeling in the arrangement we used orange and peach ranunculus and airy delicate cupcake cosmos. The pink lace hydrangea also added a bold pop to to the colour palette and we loved how it tied in with Love in Bloom’s beautiful cake. Since the elopement was meant to take place at home, we opted for a beautiful clay ceramic vase that could double as home decor and loved how the muted neutral tones let the colours of the flowers stand out.

The bouquet also had a base of blush roses with orange and peach ranunculus, but with some added fall inspired foliage and poufs of white scabiosa to lighten the feeling of the bouquet.

The final perfect addition to the bouquet and centrepiece was the groom’s boutonniere. We loved how the orange ranunculus popped against his white shirt but also added a neutral bunny tails to tie in with the bohemian feeling of the loft and also to add some additional texture to the overall look.
