Old World Parisian Charm Wedding Editorial at Cluny Bistro

February 17, 2020

On a crisp spring day in early 2019, Paula Visco and I came up with the idea of putting together an editorial shoot at a smaller, more intimate venue in Toronto. After treating ourselves to a few fancy lunches, we decided Cluny Bistro was the place to do this in. I felt so inspired in their space, perhaps because of the ornate wallpaper and fine details in their fixtures.

Our shoot took place primarily in the event space towards the back of the restaurant which boasts blue, patterned wallpaper and glossy wood table tops. To compliment, we brought in tones of mustard and orange through the centrepieces, bouquet and arch. We chose two-toned tableware and urban-sleek flatware as subtle touches, keeping the main focus on the blooms and stationery. The cake was a delicate angel sitting backlit by the sun coming through the window. She was a queen, so we surrounded her with blooms.

Victory & Dayo, a real-life couple, played our bride and groom for the day. Our bride carried a mixture of Combo Roses, peach Ranunculus, grey Kangaroo paw and bleached Ruscus. The attire worn by both spoke of sophistication and old-world charm. They were an absolute dream to work with.
